First Official ‘Magic Mike’ Movie Still, Plus Joe Manganiello Goes On A Date [PHOTOS]

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first official image for Steven Soderbergh‘s male stripper dramedy Magic Mike. The fresh photo features Alex Pettyfer, Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello and Matthew McConaughey. While the first three three show off their guns in sleeveless white shirts and army pants, McConaughey flaunts his ripped abs by going shirtless.

Inspired by real events in star Channing Tatum’s life, Magic Mike tell the story of a young male stripper (Alex Pettyfer) who is taken under the wing by his older colleagues as he, um, rises in the business. This is likely to be the most homo-erotic flick in theaters since Warrior, Mike will also feature True Blood‘s Joe Manganiello as Big Dick Richie and Matthew McConaughey as the veteran Dallas.

As part of their 2012 preview, Warner Bros. just released the first official still of the movie which you can find here. And just in case you were curious, Pettyfer plays Adam (aka The Kid) and Tatum is Mike Martingano.

This past weekend, Joe enjoying a pre-Christmas (December 23) date at the movies with his new girlfriend.

But, the cover, which was dated Jan. 7, 2012, was revealed as a fake.

That didn't stop the fake, which features a solo Lauther, touting the "Exclusive" story, from creating buzz on the Internet though.

"Tired of rumors, the Twilight star opens up about his decision to finaly come out. 'I'm more liberated, and happier than I've ever been,'" the cover's copy proclaimed.

But, a spokesperson for People magazine told Gossip Cop that the story was "absolutely fake."

Producer Russell Simmons was fooled by the the fake, tweeting, "proud of Taylor Lautner for his bravery and his courage." He later responded to being duped, saying, " Disappointed that people would joke about someone coming out about their sexuality. Let Taylor Lautner be whoever he wants to be..."
