Look 1: Nicole Richie’s Chic Incognito Look

Nicole Richie was spotted doing some holiday shopping in a quite covered up, albeit trendy, look. She rocked a black palette, combining black skinny pants, a black jacket with a waterfall collar (which looks to be made of a boucle material), black knee-high heeled boots, and a black fedora-like hat. She accessorized with pops of color by toting a bright red quilted Chanel bag and an Alexander McQueen skull printed scarf.

Nicole’s look demonstrates the awesome effect that accessories can have on a basic outfit. Black skinny pants or jeans, a white top, and a black jacket (preferably with a cool waterfall or motorcycle collar) are transformed by the skull print scarf and red quilted bag, as well as the hat, sunnies, and knee-high boots. If you would like a jacket with a texture like Nicole’s, Topshop makes a faux leather jacket with exposed wool surfaces, giving it a similar vibe.

Look 2: Cameron Diaz’s Easy Travel Ensemble

Cameron was doing some traveling this past week in some slim-fitting jeans, a white t-shirt, a creme colored sweater, and tan knee-high boots, while carrying a fabulous large weekender bag. This simple look is put-together and fashionable yet conservative enough for any holiday traveling you may be doing this winter. (Of course, jeggings are a great option instead of jeans if you have a long flight ahead of you!)

A white t-shirt and jeans (or jeggings) are basics that make up this easy look. Tan knee-high boots complement a weekender bag that looks awfully similar to Cameron’s, topped off by a unique sweater. Forever 21 offers this diamond cable-knit sweater with a partial zip-up collar, which almost gives it a motorcycle-jacket twist.

Look 3: Kim Kardashian’s Blingy Blazer Combo

Kim Kardashian shared some pictures of herself in NYC doing a radio show this week, and I was inspired by her outfit (the top-half, at least!) — I thought it was a great way to mix dressy and trendy for this season. Kim wore a black blazer (a signature Kardashian piece) with a taupe tank top and black skinny pants, along with some sparkly hoop earrings and a long pendant necklace.

A neutral-colored tank top over some black skinny jeans or pants keeps this look casual, but by adding a structured black blazer, the outfit is transformed into a more chic look. Add some sparkle with shimmering hoop earrings and a dangling pendant necklace, along with some neutral-colored ankle booties, and the look is complete.
