We initially thought reality-TV-star-turned-budding-pop-diva Kim Kardashian’s Dream-produced single was called “Turn It Up,” but it turns out the jam is called, er, “Jam.” Ryan Seacrest premiered it on his KIIS-FM Los Angeles show this morning. And you can hear it below!
Kardashian, just one of the many women linked to Justin Bieber in the past, initially premiered “Jam” at Tao nightclub in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve. “The whole crowd, not even knowing the words, they were like singing along at the end and it was really crazy,” Kim told Ryan Seacrest this morning.
She was accompanied to the studio by her sister Kourtney because, as Seacrest stated, Kim was visibly nervous. “I think it’s only normal for me to be nervous,” she said on air. “I’m human. I’ve never sang before. This is definitely something that I don’t do.”
Well, let’s see if Kim has anything to be nervous about…
Kardashian was definitely in able hands—last year we included The-Dream in our list of The 8 Producers Who Made 2010 Go Pop for his work on Justin Bieber’s “Baby.” (He also co-produced Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” and Rihanna’s “Umbrella.”)
“Feelin’ good, feelin’ great and they playin’ my jam… Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, DJ,” Kim repeats over and over (and over) again in the chorus to “Jam.”
In its radio edit form, the tune is definitely way more of a dancefloor-ready club banger than fellow socialite Paris Hilton’s debut single “Stars Are Blind” was five years ago. It probably won’t be revolutionizing modern music anytime soon, but “Jam” is at least good for a few shakes under the strobe light.
“Jam” hits iTunes today (with a portion of the proceeds from the sales of the song being donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital).
Let us know below if you think Kim Kardashian has what it takes to join the pop ranks.
