Chace Crawford seems to have been outed as a gay man by the New York Observer. In an article dealing with closeted sexuality in Hollywood, the paper talks about a young male star enjoying the company of a man at a recent event, and noted the man stared them down when they passed by as if to say, “don’t you dare write about this.”
The article then closes by saying, “There’s also the simple matter of defusing the knowing laughter of a public that maybe just doesn’t care that much anymore. ‘If you’re in the closet,’ said [Lance] Bass, ‘you get made fun of more than if you just come out!’ If he’s in fact gay, that’s a lesson Chace Crawford—the dashing, engrossed young man at the premiere—may do well to heed.”
Enjoying a conversation with another man certainly doesn’t make one homosexual, and having seen Mr. Crawford out and about, we do have to admit he has always seemed to prefer the company of ladies, but the Observer appears to have other ideas, or know something we do not.
Whispers of Crawford’s sexuality have been constant since Gossip Girl premiered, but we’re not sure we’re really buying this.
