'The Amazing Spider-Man 2': Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone in Chinatown

 Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have been photographed filming The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in New York.

The pair, who play Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy in the superhero sequel, were spotted working on the movie in Chinatown over the weekend.

The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb is back behind the camera for the follow-up to last summer's box office hit.

The story, penned by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, sees Peter facing new foes Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Rhino (Paul Giamatti) as he heads towards high school graduation.

The sequel will also re-introduce the characters of Harry Osborn and Norman Osborn, with Lawless actor Dane DeHaan and Chris Cooper taking on the respective roles.

Shailene Woodley will play Mary-Jane Watson, while Sally Field reprises her role as Aunt May.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will open in cinemas on April 18, 2014.
