The College Television Awards recognized excellence this past Saturday night (April 9) in both undergrad and graduate work in video, digital and film production. Student winners were awarded by some of their favorite celebrities including host Mary Lynn Rajskub of 24.
Glee star Darren Criss looked dashing in gray suit and black tie, and 90210 star Shenae Grimes wore a racy black backless dress. Elijah Wood, Terrence Howard, Amber Tamblyn, Jason Ritter and a number of other celebrities in attendance were on duty to present winners with their trophies.
Actress Geena Davis partnered with the Foundation to present the competition’s first-ever Focus on Diversity and Gender Equality in Children’s Media Award—a $5,000 prize for the student producer who best showcases diversity and gender equality in their work. Eligible entries portrayed a balance between male and female roles, demonstrated diversity, dispelled stereotypes about male and female characters and targeted children ages 2-11.
