Chris Evans Clears Up Marvel Contract Rumors; Says He’s Signed for Six Films and His THOR: THE DARK WORLD Cameo Did Not Count
Marvel is deep into its Phase Two series of films now, and 2014 will kick off with the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier on April 4th. While recently speaking with Chris Evans in anticipation of the film’s release, Steve also briefly discussed the highly anticipated sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron with the Captain America actor, and he revealed his reaction to reading Whedon’s script for the follow-up. avengers-age-of-ultron-chris-evansProduction is getting ready to begin in earnest on Avengers: Age of Ultron with the bulk of filming taking place in London, which means that most—if not all—of the cast has now read Whedon’s script. Obviously plot details are under firmly wraps, but when speaking with Steve, Evans offered his reaction to reading the script. It’s no surprise that Evans’ response was positive, but he also mentioned that each time he’s read a Marvel script, the finished product has surpassed that initial reading:
“[The Age of Ultron script] is great. It’s great. But I’ll tell you this: every time I’ve read a Marvel script, they surpass it. You read it and you’re like, ‘Well this is gonna be great,’ and then they make it and it’s even better. The script is great, it’s great. So if that’s any indication, I think we’re in for a good movie.”
The actor doesn’t reveal anything earth-shattering here, but fans eager to pore over anything and everything Marvel-related should be sufficiently tantalized by the actor’s comments.
