Robert Pattinson, You’re A Card!

Before reading Robert Pattinson‘s interview on Elle.com, I was only about Edward Cullen. Pattinson is certainly a looker and does resemble a vampire, but I never swooned over him enough to hang up Tiger Beat pictures above my bed.

Then I read the article. Boy oh boy, is this gentleman charming. And funny! Not a huge fan of the paparazzi, Pattinson made up a scenario he hopes will happen one day:

“You know, when the whole thing dries up and there’s hardly any paparazzi around—I don’t know, in 15 years or something—I like the idea of just one paparazzo coming out and trying to get a picture, and I just beat the shit out of him. I mean—out of nowhere—when my picture’s not even worth…and I’ve spent all my money, so you can’t sue me!”

The interviewer brought up the rumor that Pattinson was pregnant a few years ago, and naturally he confirmed it: “Yeah, a couple years ago. That was true, though.”
Pattinson’s work outside of the Twilight saga has brought the actor out of his shell, and he seems excited by the opportunities to work with Reese Witherspoon in Water for Elephants and Uma Thurman in Bel Ami. Bel Ami is a huge departure from his time as a vampire, as Pattinson will play slutty English journalist, Guy de Maupassant. He’ll bed a bevy of women and feel alright about it after, something Edward Cullen would NEVER do.
