It felt like it took forever for Sam Raimi's Oz The Great and Powerful
to get from pre-production to completion - it started production in
July 2011 - but we are finally closing in on the release date. We've
already seen a couple of trailers, a number of stills and even a fun
triptych poster, but now it's time for what looks like a series of
character one-sheets.
Walt Disney Studios has released a new bit of advertising art for the
upcoming fantasy film, and rather than having the titular hero take
center stage it's instead the dastardly Wicked Witch of the West. You
can see the poster below and click to see it in its highest resolution
over in our database.
A prequel of sorts to L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz, the new
movie follows a magician named Oscar who dreams greatness and glory.
While traveling by balloon after being chased out of town he discovers
that he has somehow flown into the land of Oz, where he manages to
convince everyone that he is a great wizard - everyone, that is, except
for Glinda, Theodora and Evanora, a trio of witch sisters. The
outstanding cast includes James Franco as Oz, Michelle Williams, Rachel
Weisz, Mila Kunis, Zach Braff, Joey King and Tony Cox. Oz The Great And Powerful hits theaters March 8, 2013
