Disney Channel aired a preview of Maleficent today and you can check out the new footage below! Opening in theaters on May 30, 2014, the action adventure stars Angelina Jolie, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.
The film explores the origins story of the iconic villain from a beautiful, pure-hearted young woman who turns into a cold-stoned sorceress due to a ruthless betrayal. Hell bent on revenge, she faces an epic battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn daughter.
Maleficent is being directed by Robert Stromberg, based on a screenplay by Paul Dini and Linda Woolverton. Will land in theaters May 30, 2014.
